How It Works: Advanced parental control technology consists of filters that prevent offensive material from appearing on your screen, or in the sound track, as you watch the movie. Since each filter is customized for a specific title, the result is often almost

When setting up your DVD player you may customize your tolerance settings (see below).
Insert the movie into the DVD player.
The player will recognize the movie and offer to play the movie filtered. This setting can be locked with a
password.
If the player doesn't have the movie's filter file loaded it will prompt you to load it. (This process is different for each of the players. Filter files are transferred from computer to DVD player via CD-R, USB or Modem, depending on your model.)
While you watch the movie, the player knows when to mute the sound or skip the frame or scene based
on your custom preferences.
About the Filters: A simple on-screen menu lets you activate filters for 3 main categories. Within those categories are 14 subcategories. For each movie, choose the settings that are right for your family. You can activate individual ones or all 14 at once.

Three Players to Choose From: We now have three different DVD players with this movie editing capability. The main difference between these players is the way the filter files are downloaded and installed on the DVD Player.
Filtering DVD Player - Telephone File Transfer
This unit uses an internal modem to transfer the DVD Movie Filter Files from the service
provider to the DVD Player. Just plug the player into the phone line and the player does the rest. Don't have a phone line close to your entertainment center? That's OK with EZJack portable phone jack.
It doesn't get any easier than this. You do need a 'real' phone line.
After purchase of machine, how much is the subscription for new movie filters? Some of our Filtering DVD Players come with a subscription built in. Receive a discount by purchasing the subscription with the player. Additional time can be purchased for $7.95 per month or $79.50 per year.
Can you just buy the filters for the movies you want to see?
Not at this time. A subscription to the filter library will give you access to all the movie filter files available.
Do I have to have a computer and Internet connection to use these DVD Players? Yes and No. You must have a computer with a USB port to use the filtering DVD Players - USB File Transfer. You don't need a computer to use the MaxPlay - Telephone File Transfer model.
